(inter)Generations: A Playwriting Program
This fall, BETC begins a new education initiative.
High school students and older adults 50+ will apply to take part in a free ten-session playwriting program. Selected students will learn about the basic building blocks of script writing, interview one another, and create short plays inspired by one another’s life experiences. At the end of each session, readings of these plays will be performed by BETC actors for the public.
In the fall, all classes will take place online. Applications for the program will open in mid-August. Readings of the students’ plays will be streamed online for the public in October 2020. (A second ten-session program will be offered in Winter 2021, and may be held in person depending on the public health situation at that time.)
(inter)Gen is made possible in part by a grant from the Next50 Initiative.
