Much to our delight, playwright Steven Dietz’s sweet love story emulates Joyce’s fluid approach to time, as well as his seamless mix of memory and dreams.
With only four characters depicting older and younger versions of the same two people, BETC puts on yet another shining performance with a small cast of excellent actors.
Though the events in Bloomsday are fantastical, the play is a very different animal from the other examples of Dietz’s work that I’ve experienced.
“Bloomsday” reaches deep down to engage audiences with humor, wit and inevitably the sting of heartache that coincides with pining.
