Fall 2018 Theatre Class Schedule
Playwriting: Creating a Short Play
Think you’ve got a story to tell? Get started on your (first?) short play in this active and interactive playwriting workshop, featuring writing exercises, feedback sessions, and informal readings. You’ll learn how to incorporate basic structure, tap into personal content, and overcome writer’s block. Students should expect to leave with a better familiarity with the playwriting process and a solid draft of a play for future tinkering.
Saturday mornings, 9:30-11:00, September 22nd – November 10th (8 sessions)
Instructor: Josh Hartwell
Price: $250 REGISTER
Ace Your Auditions
Gain confidence and sharpen your acting skills as you learn the secrets of how to take your best work into the audition room. This 7-week class begins with your practice audition. You’ll receive feedback from the artistic director of the BETC Ensemble, then spend five weeks on audition material selection and coaching to improve your pieces. In the final week of class, you’ll re-audition, get more feedback, and see how you’ve improved!
Monday evenings, 6:00-7:15, October 1st – November 12th (7 sessions)
