BETC is the resident theatre company at the New Local Annex, a new and intimate performance venue we’d love for you to come discover!
Every Sunday from June 1-Sept 28, between your coffee sipping and wandering among art with the kiddos, come see a bite-sized show by BETC!
BETC will offer ten-minute shows throughout the morning: music, storytime with music, and fun-size shows by the MAD LIBrarians (our crowd-favorite improv comedy series for kids and families) and other guest artists. Drop on by and let’s have some fun!

July 13 – A mini-musical for kids! Past Your Bedtime tells the story of ornery Bailey who does NOT want to go to bed, and after she has been left alone by her parents she is visited by a ghost with a special lesson. This original musical for all ages was recently developed at the 24 Hour Plays by David Nehls who brought you The Great American Trailer Park Musical and he will perform it live!

August 10 – Wildly creative musician-storyteller-actor Riley Anne Martin delights, stirring together harp, ukelele, and the story of The Little Bird with the Broken Wing, and The Mother Bird Who Taught Him to Sing.
August 24 – Magician Braden Carlisle tours the country wowing and delighting family audiences with his funny and sharp performances. Braden has performed for Dr Pepper, Sonic, the Governor of Colorado, Boulder Creek Fest, and is Jefferson County’s Official Magician. You’ve seen a rabbit get pulled out of a hat, but have you seen a man swallow a balloon larger than a small child?
August 31 – Mitch Slevc and Emily Petterson, Teaching Artists from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, performing a short play (with puppets) about everybody’s favorite forgotten hero of Paleontology: Mary Anning!

The capacity is 25-30. Ticket reservations are not needed, it is first come, first served.
