Chip Persons (Ensemble Member) has performed with BETC as Oscar Wilde in “Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde,” and as Sir Isaac Newton in “Vera Rubin: Bringing the Dark to Light.” He assistant-directed BETC’s production of “Going to a Place Where You Already Are,” and served on the BETC board of directors.
Chip has appeared with Local Theatre Company, the Arvada Center, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, and Stories On Stage. Elsewhere, he has worked with La Jolla Theatre Ensemble, Write Out Loud, Lambs Players Theatre, The Old Globe Theatre, and in New York at Theatre for a New Audience, 59E59 Theater, HERE Arts Center, Bank Street Theatre, La MaMa ETC, the Ohio Theater, Dixon Place, and the Clemente Center. In the 1990s, Chip worked in theatre and film in Prague, the Czech Republic, most notably as an ensemble member of Misery Loves Company. He has appeared onscreen in “Law & Order,” TV commercials, and the feature film “Quantum Cowboys.” Chip’s training started at San Diego Junior Theatre and San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. He holds a BFA from UC Santa Barbara and an MFA from Columbia University. He is head of Acting at the University of Colorado Boulder.
