Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (BETC)
This is what theatre can do.
BETC brings wonderful new plays to the Boulder stage, presenting exciting and vibrant stories that will entertain and inspire you. Whether you’re looking for something to do in Boulder tonight, this weekend, or over the holidays, BETC is the place to be.
We begin inside a modern-day museum, where two security guards and a painter find themselves compelled to touch a masterpiece. But soon, we are skipping through time, watching Rembrandt at work and listening to Homer discuss the nature of art. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette hailed The Rembrandt as “funny, sweet, melancholy, and emotionally engaging… imaginative and strangely comforting.” Fresh from the stages of Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago and winner of the 2015 Stavis Award, Jessica Dickey’s delightful play asks us to consider the longevity of art and the brevity of life.
Our preview audiences for The Rembrandt receive a free drink ticket to enjoy a tipple with the performance. Choose from our featured cocktail, local craft beer, a wide selection of wine, tea, coffee, and various non-alcoholic drinks before the show at the Dairy’s Polk Café.
