At first, I thought I had not seen a previous Eric Pfeffinger production. But I was wrong. Pfeffinger wrote a play – HUMAN ERROR – that was part of the 2017 New Play Summit and later given a full production at the Garner Galleria Theatre in the 2017-18 season. It was a funny, thoughtful production about two married couples trying to have babies through in vitro fertilization. But the embryo of one wife gets accidentally implanted in the uterus of the second wife. This leads to two very different couples having to put up with each other for nine months in an effort to do what is absolutely best for the baby. In the process, the liberal couple came to know the ultra-conservative couple while they all broke down the stereotypes they had allowed to develop.
